Panic! at The Coast...
So Pat and I turned on the t.v. last night to learn that Tropical Storm Edouard is heading our way. We had no idea. Good thing we bought 8 cans of soup yesterday at the store to replenish our hurricane rations or Pat would have been needling me about it...which he did still make some jokes about "good thing we replenished!!" What a nerd. I frequently dip into the hurricane rations for work lunch rations. :) So tonight we should see some pretty groovy storming. With all luck, we will lose power and/or 288 will flood terribly and I will not have to come into work. Ahhh, a girl can dream. Already, my boss approached me in the break room this morning to state that since I live closer to the coast that if I need to leave early today I can. For what?? Oh, that's right...I need to gather some more soup and make sure my gas tank is full. So as soon as I fill it, I will drive around the block and need to fill it again...this could be an endless cycle... With all of that said, if this storm turns out to wreak havoc, I will feel terrible for my poo-pooing it.
I am once again feeling the urge to get fake nails. Why? Because they are pretty... The problem is that I cannot seem to justify getting them. My nails grown fine, like claws actually. Talons. Pat made a good point though, what is the difference between getting highlights in your hair and getting fake nails? Not much of one I say! So maybe I will break down this week and get my beloved fake nails even though they make typing a lot harder.
We went and hung out with my parents on Saturday and my brother Ben and two of his kids were with him. We had a great time. Dani, one of the girls has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She is 13 and so smart! She was educating me on Anime, China, and Japan. We all enjoyed looking up our chinese astrological signs. I am the year of the Tiger. ROAR!!!! Later, we all went to eat Mexican food there in Dayton. It was a very fun evening. So much for date night though. So Pat and I had date night last night. I cooked dinner for him and we enjoyed the evening.
I want to try to cook one new recipe at least once per week or cook ANY recipe once per week. I don't have a problem with cooking if I have all the ingredients there and I don't have to think about what to cook. I need a personal shopper for this.
Okay, I am rambling. That's all...keep your fingers crossed that I can find a way to go home early!

Good luck with the new recipe idea- my sister does something like that. Me, I'm so busy being a mommy, working, wife, whatnot that Kraft Mac-n-Cheese is about as complex as I get anymore. I used to cook more before kids... that lady left the house like 6 years ago. Thank God that my husband likes to cook.. solves my problems. But I still can make a mean dessert when I have time!!
